IMF board approves release of over $1.1 billion bailout funds: Pakistan finance minister

ISLAMABAD: The Global Monetary Fund (IMF) board on Monday authorised the seventh and eighth critiques of Pakistan’s bailout programme, the country’s finance minister Miftah Ismail said, which will launch $1.17 billion in money to the funds-strapped country.
“The IMF Board has accredited the revival of our EFF program. We really should now be obtaining the 7th & 8th tranche of $1.17 billion,” Ismail claimed on Twitter.
The IMF’s resident agent in Islamabad did not instantly respond to a ask for for comment.
